CLOSED CAPTIONS & AUDIO DESCRIPTIVE MOVIES
We now offer two cinemas with Audio Descriptive and Closed Captions.
HOW DOES THE SYSTEMS WORK
Both these system are personal systems and do not affect the people around you. Please let a member of staff know you require the use of these systems when you purchase your ticket.
The cup holder unit works for people who are hearing impaired. The captions are broadcast via an infrared signal to a personal device which sits in your cup holder. The head of the unit is positioned at the lower edge of the screen and captions are displayed for you to read.
The headphones work for people who are vision impaired. The system also works via an infrared signal. These broadcast both the movie audio, and audio descriptions direct to you. You can control the volume of both audio tracks via volume dials on each ear.
Currently we have 2 cinemas which has this technology installed. While we try to accommodate most movies, we cant fit everything. As not all movies have this either, we are limited in what movies we can offer this equipment for each week. However if you require the use of either of these technologies, and either the times don’t suit you, or the movie wasn’t offered you can request the time, date and movie with us. We will then try our best to accommodate the times for you. We can’t guarantee exact times, but will try to be as close as possible.
